Far from being just a unique, useful and extremely fascinating resource for local, family and social historians, these Police Gazettes contain details and information that can not be found anywhere else. As well as listing those in the police force with promotions, resignations, commendations etc, you will find information on courts lists, arson, murders, deserters, lists of those arrested and discharged, warrants issued, escaped prisoners, missing persons, details of lost and stolen items (and from whom), apprehensions and more. Notices from police gazettes from other states are also often included.

Septimus Parham, by P.C. Shinnick, for larceny from William Garratt, at Gawler ; one month (released under the First Offenders Act).
Thomas Ross, by M.C. Jones, for larceny from Donaldson, Andrews, and Co., at Moonta; two months.
Arthur Cain, by M.C. Birt, for larceny from Charles Hetherington, at Beltana ; cautioned and discharged.
Sydney George Flegg and John Henry Gray (alias Courtney), by Det. Fraser and F.C. Sullivan, for larceny from Jane Smith, at Port Adelaide; three months each.
Reginald Thomas, on an information for larceny from Kathleen Frances Rooney, at Kapunda ; whipped.
William Fraser, by M.C. Teate, for larceny from Basil Sladden, at Murray Bridge ; one month.
John Legner, by Det. Fraser and F.C. O'Sullivan, for larceny from Conrad Eitel, at Adelaide ; six months.
Emily Thomas (alias Tollhurst), by Det. Thom, for larceny from Daniel W. Melvin, withdrawn; and for larceny from J. H. Weidenhofer, at Adelaide ; fined 40s.
Michael Williams (alias Casey), by M.C. Dunne, for larceny as a bailee from Donald Matheson, at Robe ; committed.
Oscar Lankow, by Dets. Priest and Loughlin, for false pretences on G. & R. Wills & Co., at Adelaide ; whipped.
Alice Reid, by F.C. Dedman, for larceny from Charles Moore & Co., at Adelaide; one month (released under the First Offenders Act).
